Youth peace building training – Sudan: trainers manual

23 08 2007

URL: www.csvr.org.za/papers/paphul3t.pdf. Published by the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation, this trainers manual details the role of a trainer in relation to five themes: understanding conflict, human rights terminology and instruments; analysing conflict; intervening in conflict; exploring the potential impact of your intervention on the conflict; and the way forward. Most of the activities or exercises are elicitive, i.e. designed to draw out the knowledge of participants as the basis for discussion and learning. This approach aims to allow participants and trainers to identify and focus their efforts on local needs and adapt the training content to fit their cultural context.
