It particularly focuses on the triangular linkage aspect of this agenda between good governance, security, and economic development. The authors argue that one of the biggest challenges for the EU policy in Africa will most probably be cross-pillar coordination, i. e. the coordination of CFSP (Common Foreign and Security Policy) activities and EC (European Committee) development programmes. Reconciling their objectives is obviously a matter of close coordination and institutional diplomacy.
