URL: In this paper from Afrobarometer, the authors consider what, if anything, “satisfaction with democracy” can tell us about a political system. They explore this question in the context of Kenya by analyzing the links between declines in satisfaction with democracy and indicators of system support, system function, and incumbent performance. They conclude that, although satisfaction with democracy is linked to people’s differing hopes and values, this is not a reason to abandon it, as some critics suggest.
